Fonderia Frascio: carrying on Lumezzane’s age-old tradition of metallurgy
In the 1940s, the company founder PIERINO FRASCIO, born in 1918, 
started the business in Lumezzane (province of Brescia), after learning the foundry trade, driven by the strong entrepreneurial spirit that characterises his town. After the war, his children joined the family business, specifically his son ROBERTO, who learned the art of metallurgy and all the secrets of making bronze.
In Lumezzane, more than 80% of the local population works in industry because the inhabitants pass on a very strong know-how (knowledge, operative skills, and experience). The city is a valley community in the Pre-Alps of Brescia, historically and geographically an isolated area, with a tradition of metalworking whose origins are lost in time. It is here that in the second half of the Nineteenth Century there was a small industrial revolution, which in the period after the Second World War exploded with the drive and entrepreneurial spirit that today still persist, creating a real system. Lumezzane was transformed from a simple area in the province of Brescia to a pillar of the Italian economy. An explosion of growth blew though the valley and its inhabitants, leading to economic growth without precedence.
In 2000, the company moved to Agnosine, to a larger site, where quality and professionalism are the cardinal points for operations and business. The product range runs from brass to bronze ingots and the market responded favourably. In just a few years, the FONDERIA FRASCIO ROBERTO conquered a good share of the Italian and foreign markets, becoming a considerable competitor of the giants in Brescia who manufacture ingots.
Today the company is guided by ROBERTO FRASCIO and his children, who are directly responsible for the company. Purchasing and production are under the scrupulous care of his son, STEFANO, who personally controls the quality of the ingots using the latest generation of X-ray spectrometer. Sales and Customer Satisfaction have been entrusted to his daughter, PAOLA. With more than 70 years of experience (in smelting, raw material preparation, and metallurgy in general), the FRASCIO foundry is a solid, reliable company that manufactures a range of copper alloys, valued for the excellent processabililty and excellent yields.
